Professional products Sowing and pressed plugs Press Top
Professional substrate with extra-fine structure for seeding and pressed plugs, produced in Germany.
Press Top is the Arber substrate for seeding and pressed plugs: Baltic peat 0–5 mm, German black peat, wood fiber and cocopeat at 341 g/L dry bulk density for mechanical cohesion under compression.

Features
At 341 g/L, Press Top delivers mechanical cohesion under load and consistent water retention across long germination cycles, maintaining uniform contact with the seed. The extra-fine structure combines Baltic blonde peat 0–5 mm and German black peat 0–5 mm with extra-fine wood fiber and cocopeat to support uniform germination.
PG Mix starter fertiliser supports the first growth stage. The wetting agent allows you to re-wet the seeding block evenly after drying cycles. Press Top is developed for growers who need high dry bulk density, extreme fineness and plug cohesion under compression.
Selected peat from the Baltic countries and Germany: consistently from the same fields, season after season, to ensure batch-to-batch quality continuity.
Technical specifications
| Structure | Fine |

Why choose it
- Granulometry 0–5 mm: reduces interstitial voids and speeds water absorption during germination compared to coarser substrates.
- German black peat as main component: rich and even surface for germination.
- pH 5.2–6 and EC 0.6–1 mS/cm: stable acid profile for pressed plugs.
- Dry bulk density 341 g/L: dense substrate with stable mechanical cohesion under load across up to 5 compression cycles.
- Integrated base fertilisation: fast early push for seedlings in the nursery.
