Features

Optimal drainage and balanced water retention: Bio Fruit solves a common problem for citrus in containers. Citrus suffers from waterlogging in winter and sudden drought stress in summer. The medium-coarse structure lets roots breathe. It distributes water evenly over time. This reduces the risk of root rot and water stress.

The mix combines blonde peat for water retention, peat fiber and coconut fiber for structural stability and consistent drainage, black peat for natural nutrients, and an organic fertiliser that supports the plant in the first months after repotting. No synthetic chemical fertilisers are used. The result is balanced development and quality fruiting — completely natural.

You use it for spring repotting and for autumn topping-up of lemons, oranges, mandarins, container almond trees, patio fruit trees, and small fruit plants such as everbearing strawberries and currants in containers. For acid-loving plants such as blueberries and blue hydrangeas, choose a specific ericaceous mix instead.

Bio Fruit is designed for growers who want sustainable and natural solutions for growing citrus and fruit in containers. It uses an environmentally responsible approach. It is packed in Italy using selected peat from Lithuania, consistently from the same fields, and organic raw materials from a consolidated supply chain.

Why choose it

  • Exclusively organic raw materials: no synthetic chemical fertilisers, consistent biological approach for citrus and fruit trees.
  • Medium-coarse structure: adequate drainage for large containers used with fruit trees, no waterlogging.
  • Peat fiber + coconut fiber: maintains stable moisture for 5–7 days, ideal if you water irregularly or are away; reduces compaction even after frequent repotting.
  • Integrated organic fertiliser: supports the plant in the first months after repotting for balanced fruiting.
  • Developed to maximise fruiting in containers: optimal drainage and balanced nutrients for citrus, fruit trees, and small fruit plants in containers.

Composition

  • blonde peat
  • peat fiber — structural stability, consistent water retention

When to use it

Suitable for spring repotting of citrus, fruit trees, and small fruit plants in containers. Also suitable for autumn topping-up of existing container mix. Use in all climate zones.

How to use it

  1. Fill the base of the container with a drainage layer of expanded clay or volcanic Lapillus (3–5 cm). This is especially important for large containers used with fruit trees.
  2. Add Bio Fruit to 2 cm below the rim of the container, leaving space for watering.
  3. Place the plant so the crown sits level with the mix surface. For citrus: do not bury the graft union.
  4. Water thoroughly immediately after repotting. Avoid water sitting in the saucer.
  5. For autumn topping-up: remove the top 3–4 cm of exhausted mix and replace with fresh Bio Fruit.

Suitable for

Adatto: agrumi, piante da frutto, piccoli frutti, vaso, container

Not recommended for: Acid-loving plants (blueberries, blue hydrangeas, azaleas, camellias) — choose a specific ericaceous mix instead.
