Leader potting mix with stable acid pH for azaleas, camellias, blue hydrangeas, blueberries, and acid-loving plants.
A mix of blonde peat, black peat, potting soil, wood fiber, and integrated fertiliser. It maintains a stable acid pH for azaleas, camellias, blue hydrangeas, and blueberries in containers.
Features
Spring and autumn are the best times to repot azaleas, camellias, blue hydrangeas, and other acid-loving plants. This Leader potting mix maintains the acid pH these plants need. It combines blonde peat, black peat, potting soil, wood fiber, and integrated fertiliser.
Use it for repotting azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas (blue varieties), rhododendrons, blueberries in containers, gardenias, heathers, and other acid-loving plants in pots or troughs. The fine-to-medium structure prevents waterlogging and overly fast drying. It keeps moisture consistent in the pot. The integrated fertiliser supports healthy, abundant flowering. Important: water with rainwater or low-calcium water to keep the pH acid over time.
For non-acid-loving plants (foliage plants, standard flowering plants, vegetables, succulents) choose a universal potting mix instead. Packaged in Italy using selected German peat, consistently from the same fields batch after batch.
Why choose it
- Stable acid pH: the essential condition for healthy azaleas, camellias, blue hydrangeas, and blueberries.
- Fine-to-medium structure: prevents waterlogging and overly fast drying, keeping moisture consistent in the pot.
- Integrated fertiliser: supports flowering and fruiting (for blueberries) in the first months after repotting.
- Developed for azaleas, camellias, blue hydrangeas, rhododendrons, blueberries, gardenias, and heathers.
- Available in 2 formats — for a small balcony or for larger growing needs.

When to use it
Suitable for spring or autumn repotting of azaleas, camellias, hydrangeas (blue varieties), rhododendrons, blueberries, gardenias, and heathers in pots or troughs. Use when the plant is dormant or has just come out of winter dormancy.
How to use it
- Fill the bottom of the pot with a 3–5 cm drainage layer of expanded clay or volcanic Lapillus.
- Add Azaleas and Acid-Loving Plants mix to 2 cm below the pot rim, leaving space for watering.
- Transplant the plant with the crown at soil level. For blue hydrangeas: crown depth directly affects flower colour.
- Water thoroughly immediately after repotting, preferably with rainwater or low-calcium water.
- To keep the pH acid over time: water with rainwater or deionised water. For blueberries, apply a specific acid-plant fertiliser once a year.
