Professional products Mulches AR Containermulch
Container mulch — reduces evapotranspiration and weeds.
AR Containermulch is the Arber professional mulch for container nursery production. It combines wood fiber and wood chips, heat-sanitised for biological stability. Apply a uniform 2–3 cm layer on top of the pot to reduce evapotranspiration, suppress weeds, and keep substrate temperature stable.

Features
The blend combines wood fiber and wood chips. It is heat-sanitised to ensure biological stability, freedom from weed seeds, and freedom from pathogens. Applied in a uniform 2–3 cm layer on top of the pot, AR Containermulch reduces evapotranspiration from the growing substrate, keeps temperature more stable at the root zone, and physically suppresses weed germination — reducing the labour hours needed for nursery maintenance.
The coarse structure provides a mulching effect without compaction, even after repeated irrigation cycles. Designed for container production of shrubs, perennials, Mediterranean plants, acid-loving plants, and outdoor plants, in pots from Ø 14 cm upward.
Wood raw material selected in Germany, from a consistent supply chain.
Why choose it
- Wood fiber and wood chips heat-sanitised — no risk of contamination from pathogens or weed seeds.
- Application depth 2–3 cm: uniform cover that reduces evapotranspiration.
- Reduces weeding labour — physical weed suppression limits manual intervention during the growing cycle.
- Service life 6–12 months: apply at the start of the season and refresh at the next cycle.
- 6–12 month seasonal service life — apply at the start of the season, effective until the next refresh.
What a mulch does
Reduces evapotranspiration
The mulch layer limits surface evaporation: fewer irrigations and less water stress between cycles.
Keeps substrate temperature stable
Insulating effect: the substrate below stays cooler in summer and warmer in winter, reducing thermal shock on the roots.
Suppresses weeds
A physical layer that blocks seed germination on the pot surface. The mulch itself is free of seeds due to heat sanitisation.
Ornamental pot finish
A uniform light-wood-colour layer that raises the perceived quality of the pot at point of sale — a commercial argument toward garden centres and end customers.
Recommended application depth

Usage notes
Apply a uniform 2–3 cm layer on top of fresh substrate immediately after repotting. Layer depth controls evapotranspiration, weed development, and thermal shock in the pot. Plan a refresh at the start of the next season: the cover naturally compacts over time. Compatible with drip and overhead irrigation systems.
