The differentiator

Why peat

Most bedding is based on straw or wood shavings. Arber starts from peat instead — still a rare choice on farms.

Peat is a naturally absorbent, slightly acidic raw material of Baltic origin, from the same extraction sites year after year. That base is what makes the difference: it holds more moisture, limits odour and ammonia, and at the end of its cycle returns to the soil as compost.

Born from Arber’s experience in professional substrates: 30 years of a selected supply chain and, since 1996, over 7 million m³ of substrate brought to market. The same care, now serving your animals.

Why it works

Drier for longer, more hygienic, more practical

Three things that change the daily management of bedding.

01 · Drier for longer

More absorbency, less ammonia

Peat absorbs up to 5–7 times its weight in water and its naturally acidic pH limits ammonia formation by up to 90%. Bedding stays dry longer, with fewer changes and less labour.

02 · More hygienic

Naturally clean, low dust

A low microbial load curbs bacteria and fungi with no chemical additives. Low dust means cleaner air and fewer respiratory irritations, for the animals and for the people who work with them.

03 · Practical & circular

Light, insulating, compostable

Light to handle and quick to replace, it keeps the base thermally stable. At the end of its cycle it returns to the soil as natural compost: a loop that closes.
